STG International, Inc., was recently awarded a nationwide contract to provide human resources support services for the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Recruiting Command. STG International, in combination with Anteon Corporation, will be providing customer service to members of the public, processing applications, conducting data-entry, and maintaining records in locations throughout the country.

One of the biggest challenges facing the recruiters in finding the right people to staff and sustain America's Shield of Freedom is that the time required to accomplish the in-office administrative work of recruiting - completing and filing forms, responding to phone and walk-in inquiries, scheduling interviews, medical exams, and transportation, keeping the lead database up-to-date, etc. - takes away from their out-of-office outreach activities. The STG Team will be providing consistent, capable, and reliable administrative and data entry support to keep USCG offices running smoothly while recruiters perform the external activities that are essential to reaching potential recruits.

The United States Coast Guard (USCG) has a dynamic personnel structure comprising four major work forces-military active duty (38,000+), military reserves (8,000), civilian (6,000), and Auxiliary (35,000) personnel. While the Coast Guard remains a military, multi-missioned, maritime service, the workforce is undergoing dramatic growth and adjustment as it responds to the demands levied upon it in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Since 2001, the Coast Guard has grown its active duty workforce by approximately 5,000. Congress authorized an additional 8,000 military members earlier this year and just recently authorized an additional increase of 800 specifically to support the Coast Guard's homeland security mission.
