Defining the Mission

Selecting, managing, and strengthening the Federal civilian workforce, OPM oversees the effectiveness and well-being of nearly 3,000,000 government employees.

But with five e-Government initiatives to administrate, including the multifaceted Enterprise Human Resources Integration (EHRI), OPM counts immensely on partners like STGi—proudly supporting a government-wide effort to eliminate paper Official Personnel Folders (OPFs).

Sourcing the Mission

Since 2004, STGi has audited more than 150,000 paper-to-electronic OPF conversions in dozens of Federal agencies including the Department of Health and Human Services, the Federal Aviation Administration, the Department of Labor, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Department of Agriculture, and many others.

Conducted by STGi’s uniquely qualified experts, the work has served to bolster information security, to strengthen continuity of operations planning, and to greatly facilitate special investigations.

Most importantly, STGi has played a critical role in leveraging information technology to safeguard employees’ rights, benefits, and entitlements. And with STGi’s core assistance, OPM is well on its way to eliminating more than 1.8 million paper records, and saving almost $800 million over the next 10 years.
